Rules and Conditions
1. Eligibility - This raffle is open to persons age 18 and over with a valid driver's license.
Since charitable raffle laws vary from state to state, it is up to each individual user to verify that
participating in this type of an event is legal in the state they reside. Officers, members and employees of
The Children's Corporation of North Florida, promoters, consultants, attorneys, independent accountant firms, and
any immediate family members of people involved with this raffle are not eligible to participate. Members of
The Kiwanis Club Of Santa Fe are not eligible to participate. We reserve the right to not accept any
illegible, defective or incomplete entry forms.
2. How to Enter:
- All entrants may make donations for ticket(s) either by cash, credit card, PayPal or
check. Credit cards and PayPal are only accepted online. Ticket donations may be made online, or by
mail. The suggested donation is $20 per ticket. Checks will be held until cleared by the bank. Checks
returned for insufficient funds or any other reason will disqualify the entry.
- Persons requesting a free ticket must provide their full name, address, telephone and email address on an
8½" x 11" piece of plain paper, one entry per page, one page per envelope. Include self-addressed stamped
envelope. Mail ticket requests to:

- Non-conforming or illegible entries will not be accepted.
- Tickets ordered online or by mail will be sent to the donor by US mail within 3 working days.
- All mail-in entries must be received at least 1 day prior to drawing to guarantee entry.
- Entries received after all tickets have been sold will be returned to sender.
- Participants acknowledge that their donation for a ticket does not in any way guarantee that they
will win a prize.
- No refunds will be made at any time. It is not necessary to make a donation to win.
3. Drawings - The raffle will begin on March 15, 2010 and continue until the random
drawing of the winning ticket, which will be held on July 4,
2010, unless all tickets are sold beforehand.The Grand Prize Drawing will be held at the City of Alachua 4th
of July Celebration at 5 p.m.
The highlighted text above is no longer valid. The Board of
Directors of The Children's Corporation of North Florida extended the drawing date to enable better
participation. The State of Florida was notified and their approval was given. The drawing will take
place at 5 p.m. at the Alachua City Hall on Labor Day, September 6, 2010.
If all tickets are sold before the stated date, drawings will take place within 7 days after the final ticket is
sold. Entrants need not be present to win.
4. Notification - The entrant whose ticket is drawn will be deemed the winner of that raffle.
All winners will be notified by phone, by email, and by letter via the United States Postal Service. If the
winner does not respond or if for any reason does not complete all paperwork required to accept ownership of the
prize within 30 days of the drawing date, ownership will be forfeited to the non-profit organization. The
Children's Corporation of North Florida is not responsible for printing errors in any raffle-related material, or
for lost, late, misdirected or undelivered mail, or for any other failure to deliver tickets, notifications, or
receipts associated with the raffle.
5. Prizes - The Grand Prize will either be
- A 2011 V6 Mustang Coupe which comes with a Full
Manufacturers Warranty, and is not warranted in any way by The Children's Corporation of North
Florida. Florida state sales tax will be paid by The Children's Corporation of North Florida. No other
taxes or fees will be paid by The Children's Corporation of North Florida. The car comes from
Ford Lincoln Mercury Hyundai of Gainesville, FL.

- A Check in the amount of $25,000.
See The Prize. If the specific car advertised becomes no longer available, a substitute car of the same
year, make, & model may be chosen as a replacement. Certain features and car color may be different from
the photographed representations in our advertising. Any taxes or fees accruing as a result of the
raffle, on or after the drawing date are the responsibility of the winner. In the event that at
least $60,000 is not raised, the original raffle will revert to a 50/50 drawing for
a cash prize with one winner. In such an event, the winner will receive 50% of the proceeds after all expenses,
with a maximum of $25,000 cash prize, or such lesser amount of the net proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets,
with the remaining proceeds going to The Children's Corporation of North Florida.
6. Proceeds - All net proceeds, less expenses and less all costs associated with the
raffle, including prizes, from the raffle will go to The Children's Corporation of North Florida for distribution
towards projects directly children.
7. Odds - The odds of winning the Grand Prize will depend on the number of entries. If
all tickets are sent out, the odds will be 1 in 4,000.
8. General Conditions - Money spent on raffle tickets can NOT be considered tax deductible as a
charity deduction. Charity raffles are void where prohibited by law. By entering, raffle participants represent
that their participation is not in violation of their local laws or otherwise prohibited. We reserve the right to
change these Rules and Conditions at anytime and without notice to anyone, though any changes made will be updated
immediately on our website through this page.
9. Privacy - By entering a raffle, all entrants consent to the use of their name, photographs,
biography, likeness, voice and video for advertising and promotional purposes, worldwide and without limitation and
without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Information about others entering the raffle
will not be sold, rented or given to any party. All ticket stubs will be destroyed after the winning ticket
is drawn.
10. Winners - Winner must accept ownership of the prize within 30 days after the drawing date
of the raffle. Should any prize not be accepted or claimed by this date, the winner's prize will be forfeited and
ownership returned to The Children's Corporation of North Florida. Winners are fully responsible for all taxes and
assessments accruing after time of title transfer, as well as all local, state, and federal income
taxes. Federal taxes must be paid in accordance with www.irs.gov/pub/irs-tege/notice_1340.pdf. All winners
must be able to provide two forms of valid identification and their name must match the name associated with the
winning ticket. In the event of a dispute over who owns a ticket ordered online, the owner of the email
address associated with the entry shall be deemed the owner of the ticket. The winner's name and city will be
posted on this website.
11. Publicity - The winner agrees to the use of his/her name, address, photograph(s) or
video(s) and statements on our website or in other media for promotion and publicity by The Childrens Corporation
of North Florida. The winner agrees to sign a publicity release without any further compensation.
12. Liability - The Children's Corporation of North Florida assumes no liability. We also
reserve the right to seek remedies and damages (including attorney fees) against any claims made against us, should
the situation arise. All decisions related to interpretation/enforcement of these rules and regulations shall be
made by The Childrens Corporation of North Florida and will be final. Void where prohibited by law. By entering the
raffle, participant agrees to release The Children's Corporation of North Florida, Ford Lincoln Mercury
and Hyundai of Gainesville, and all other parties involved in the promotion or conduct of the
event. Furthermore, if the winner accepts the Ford Mustang prize, he or she agrees to insure said vehicle in
accordance with applicable state law before driving the vehicle.
13. Void where prohibited by law.
According to Florida Statute 849.0935, drawing by chance (raffles) are limited to
organizations which are exempt from federal income taxation pursuant to 26 U.S.C. x. 501(c)(3), (4), (7), (8),
(10), (19), and which have a current determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service.
However, as provided in Florida Statute 849.094, any person, firm, corporation, or
association or agent or employee thereof may (under specific criteria) promote, operate and/or conduct a game
promotion in connection with the sale of consumer products or services. A game promotion is defined by statute as a
contest, game of chance, or gift enterprise in which the elements of chance and prizes are present (i.e., drawing a
winning number, etc.).
To operate a promotional give-away within the parameters of state law and the
practices of The Children's Corporation, the following requirements must be met:
1. Must be limited to The Children's Corporation of North Florida and it’s
bona fide fund raising activities and must be registered as an event on the TheChildren'sCorporation.org
website.
2. Results of the game may not be manipulated in any manner.
3. Officers and members of sponsoring organization and the beneficiary
organization are not eligible to win.
4. May not arbitrarily remove, disqualify, disallow, or reject any
entry.
5. Must award prizes offered.
6. May not print, publish or circulate false, deceptive or misleading
information regarding the promotion.
7. May not require an entry fee, payment or proof of purchase as a condition of
entering a game promotion. (”NO PURCHASE REQUIRED”)
8. Must publish and prominently display the game rules which, at a minimum,
must include the following:
A. NO PURCHASE REQUIRED (may reasonably limit number of free
entries daily at any single location).
B. List of prizes (include any restrictions or limitations -
i.e., “free meal, good only on weekdays”).
C. Method of determining winner, including whether they must
be present to win, and procedure for awarding unclaimed prizes.
D. State what the proceeds of the sales activity will
benefit.
9. Any promotion with prizes totaling over $5,000.00 must be registered with
the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as per s.849.094.
10. Any such promotional event is subject to the approval of The Children's
Corporation activities department through the TheChildren'sCorporation.org Event Registration
process.
In Florida Bingo games, raffles and lotteries are NOT game
promotions!
